Program: Ansel Adams—Art as Advocacy

  • Examine the intersection of art and advocacy with a focus on the work of Ansel Adams and his concern for environmental conservation and photography’s status as a fine art. Learn strategies to help students examine works of art, build creative capacity, and consider real-world advocacy tools.

    Artist and educator Leah Sobsey will guide participants to create layered photograms inspired by the photography of Ansel Adams. Materials provided.

    A certificate of participation for 5 hours will be provided (0.5 CEU credit, with prior approval from the local school system).

    Workshop runs from 10:15 am to 4 pm; includes lunch.
