Program: Offsite Workshop in Greensboro: Teaching with Art as Documents

Weatherspoon Art Museum (500 Tate St, Greensboro, NC)

$15 Members (WAM or NCMA), $20 Nonmembers*

 

How can works of art be used in the classroom to examine social, historical, and cultural issues, as well as the concept of identity? In this workshop, participants will explore strategies for using works of art as primary documents or informational texts to strengthen critical thinking, support literacy, and foster inquiry. Teachers will explore the Pan American Modernism exhibition, as well as online resources and tools that support teaching with works of art once back in the classroom. K-12 teachers of all subject areas welcome! 

Earns 0.5 CEU. Lunch included.
