The focus for our lesson plan is how the background affect the mood of our work. IThe students are using Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Joaquin Collado's Hombre Rastro Singular to show the importance of the background in an image or a painting. In the studio their assignment is to Paint the same subject but with different backgrounds to show that while backgrounds are often ignored students need to recognize the importance of the background in setting the mood for their pieces. Our focus is on 11th grade students . The Mona Lisa is located at the Louvre in Paris, France & Hombre Rastro Singular was shown in MuVIM in Valencia, Spain. This is for a University of North Texas art education class.
